Montpellier Business School Parallel Admission Resume: Template

Building an academic resume suited to Montpellier Business School's AST admission, with an annotated example.

By Équipe FinanceCV

To join Montpellier Business School (MBS) through parallel admission, the academic resume is one of the first documents the jury reads. It must fit on one page, be readable in seconds and show how your background prepares you for a management program. Here is how to build it.

Selection criteria at Montpellier BS

MBS recruits through several parallel-admission routes: shared competitive exams such as Passerelle 🔗 and Tremplin, as well as school-specific routes, notably for work-study profiles. Depending on the route and target level (Bac+2 or Bac+3), the application generally includes a resume, a cover letter, higher-education transcripts, ID documents and tests (logic, English). Procedures and calendars change from year to year: always check the school's admissions page before starting.

What the jury looks for through the resume is fairly constant:

  • academic strength (track record, honors, consistency);
  • openness: experiences, internships, commitments, international exposure;
  • a coherent project: why management, why this school;
  • clear self-expression, which the quality of the document already hints at.

Structuring your academic resume

Unlike an employee resume, the academic resume puts education first. An effective order:

  1. Header: name, contact details, optionally a LinkedIn link. A photo is optional.
  2. Education: most recent to oldest, with institution, track, years, honors and rank if flattering. Mention relevant courses (accounting, marketing, economics…).
  3. Experience: internships, jobs, work-study.
  4. Projects and commitments: student associations, supervised projects, sports, volunteering.
  5. Languages and tools: levels and certifications (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS), Excel, business software.
  6. Interests, in one or two lines, specific and sincere.

One page is enough. Two fonts at most, even margins, no decorative skill charts: the jury wants content.

Highlighting internships and projects

A short internship can weigh as much as a long experience if presented well. For each line, follow action verb + task + result:

  • "Analyzed 300 supplier invoices in Excel: identified 12% discrepancies and proposed a tracking dashboard."
  • "Organized a student forum of 400 attendees: managed a team of 8 volunteers and a €3,000 budget."

University and association projects count just as much when they prove initiative, teamwork or responsibility. If you have little work experience, this is where you show your potential.

Annotated resume example

Imagine a third-year management student:

  • Education: "Bachelor's year 3 in Management, Université de Montpellier, 2025-2026, Bien honors in semester 1." She lists two management-related courses: management control and marketing.
  • Experience: "2-month internship, management control assistant, food-industry SME: automated a monthly report, saving half a day per month."
  • Commitment: "Treasurer of a student association (60 members): €5,000 budget, secured two sponsors."
  • Languages: "English C1 (TOEIC 905), Spanish B1."

What works: each line holds a precise, verifiable fact, everything fits on one page, and the common thread (management, numbers, responsibility) gives the management project coherence.

Mistakes to avoid before sending

  • A two-page resume filled with irrelevant details.
  • Spelling mistakes: read aloud and have someone else proofread.
  • Vague verbs ("participated in", "helped with") that hide your real role.
  • Inconsistent dates between resume, letter and transcripts.
  • A generic resume that could be sent to any school: mention what connects you to Montpellier BS in the letter and in your interests.
  • A fancy layout that hurts readability, including by automated screening tools.

⚠️ Warning: never mention a grade, rank or language score you cannot back with a document.

For layout, let FinanceCV handle it: the tool manages structure and formatting without you touching margins or fonts, and produces a clean document compatible with the applicant tracking systems (ATS) many recruiters use, including for your future internship or work-study applications.
